Dr Wayne Norval has been Practicing Medicine for more than 24 years. Dr Norval is a Vocationally Registered (Specialist) General Practitioner, and he has his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Norval is the Practice Principle of Family First Medical Centre and The Graceville Skin Cancer Clinic. Dr Wayne Norval holds his Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery, and he has his Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Advanced Certificate in Dermoscopy obtained through the Skin Cancer College of Australia. He is one of only 2 Doctors in Hervey Bay that are fully accredited by the Skin Cancer College of Australia. Actively working towards completing his Skin Cancer Fellowship Exams Dr Norval is passionate about Skin Cancer Medicine and is fully proficient at completing Comprehensive Skin Cancer Skin Checks with the aid of a Mole Scanner, Biopsies, Skin Cancer Excisions including minor and major skin Grafts and Skin flaps. With additional specialised experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine Dr Norval also continues in his 12th year to be an accredited Supervisor for GP Registrars in training and has since 2018 been approved by AHPRA to be a Primary Supervisor to provide level 1 – 4 supervisions for International Medical Graduates. Currently Dr Norval’s books are closed.

DR SARITA GURUNG

Dr Sarita Gurung is from Nepal and is one of the mix billing GP’s. She is a GP fellow and has completed her fellowship from RACGP (Royal Australian College of General practitioner). Dr Sarita has her MBBS, obtained her master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and has completed her Master’s in Public Health. Dr Gurung’s special interests are women’s health, preventative health and our skin cancer clinic. Dr Sarita’s is in theatre on Monday’s and Wednesday’s with patients completing Skin Checks and Skin Excisions. Dr Sarita’s current billing structure for GP is bulk billed for patients under 18, pension card holders, health care card holders and DVA. If you don’t have any of those concession cards, private fees will apply. In her spare time, Dr Sarita loves to listen music, watching movies and spending time with her daughters and friends. Dr Tapash Saha

Dr Tapash Saha is an experienced GP from Bangladesh and is one of the bulk billing doctors. Dr Saha had worked extensively in general medicine, neurology and cardiology for 4 years gaining experience in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh. He also has obtained his Membership of the Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK) in 2014. He is interested in chronic disease management, preventive counselling, men’s health, general medicine, cardiology, and our skin cancer clinic. Dr Daniel Gonzalez

Dr Daniel Gonzalez relocated to Hervey Bay from Melbourne to start contracting with the Family First for a long-term placement in 2020. Dr Daniel has completed his MBBS and completed his fellowship with RACGP (Royal Australian College of General practitioner). Originally from Mexico, Dr Gonzalez is an experienced GP who started his medical career in the Emergency Department at one of Mexico’s largest public hospitals and has since worked extensively in General Medicine. Daniel Gonzalez is passionate about all areas of General Practice with special interests in chronic disease management, preventative medicine, pediatrics, and mental health. Dr Bhavin Karkar is one of the bulk billing doctors and has 12 months Accident and Emergency Medicine Experience and comes to us with over 10 year’s experience as a General Practitioner and Consulting Physician. With special interests in treating Chronic Conditions, Cardiology, Lung Diseases and Endocrine Disorders we welcome Dr Karkar’s expertise as a contractor of our Medical Team. Outside of work Dr Bhavin Karkar loves traveling, dogs, cricket and enjoys unwinding with visits to the beach and meditation. Dr Aung Ko Ko relocated to Hervey Bay from Rockhampton in 2022 to contract at Family First Medical Centre. Dr Aung worked as an Emergency Medicine Registrar in Jamaica for 4 years prior to coming to Australia. Dr Aung Ko Ko has worked as ED Registrar/ Registrar/ Principal House Officer for 3 years in Rockhampton Base Hospital. Dr Ko Ko is a GP specialist and finished GP training and got fellowship from RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practioner). Dr Aung Ko Ko has special interests in Skin Cancer and continues skin cancer training with SCCA (Skin cancer college of Australia) and has his Certificate of skin cancer medicine and surgery as well as advanced certificate of Dermoscopy (for skin checks) both from SCCA. Since working at Family First Medical he has also been mentored by Dr Norval for our Skin Cancer Clinic. On Tuesday’s and Wednesday Dr Aung is in theatre with patients completing Skin Checks and Skin Excisions. Dr Ko Ko is currently bulk billing for GP and Skin patients. Dr Ken Koko is one of the bulk billing doctors and is originally from Burma. Dr Ken relocated to Australia after spending years in Jamaica gaining experience in primary care and mental health. Dr Ken has years of hospital experience working at Mt Isa, Maryborough and Hervey Bay Hospitals. Prior to contracting with the team at Family First, Dr Ken was a GP registrar at Childers Family Medicine and Monsour Clinic Maryborough. Dr Kendrew Wong is one of the bulk billing doctors and is originally from Victoria. Dr Kendrew studied medicine at the University of Queensland prior to moving to Hervey Bay to work at Hervey Bay Hospital. Dr Zin Win Naing

Dr Zin is a specialist GP fellow and has attained fellowship from RACGP (Royal Australian College of General practitioner) after training with James Cook University. Prior to it, Dr Zin had years of hospital experience, well-trained in wide bay and central Queensland’s hospitals as well as overseas experience in Myanmar and Jamaica. Dr Zin has special interest in skin cancer and is sub-specializing in skin cancer medicine with SCCA (skin cancer college Australia) as well. Dr Zin does skin cancer checks and skin cancer surgeries including flaps and grafts mostly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but can accommodate as per patients’ needs. As a specialist GP/family physician, Dr Zin is also very enthusiastic in general practice areas such as chronic diseases management, chronic pain, preventive medicine, paediatric, mental health and so forth.
