Dr Wayne Norval has been Practicing Medicine for more than 24 years. Dr Norval is a Vocationally Registered (Specialist) General Practitioner, and he has his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Norval is the Practice Principle of Family First Medical Centre and The Graceville Skin Cancer Clinic.
Dr Wayne Norval holds his Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery, and he has his Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Advanced Certificate in Dermoscopy obtained through the Skin Cancer College of Australia. He is one of only 3 Doctors in Hervey Bay that are fully accredited by the Skin Cancer College of Australia. Actively working towards completing his Skin Cancer Fellowship Exams Dr Norval is passionate about Skin Cancer Medicine and is fully proficient at completing Comprehensive Skin Cancer Skin Checks with the aid of a Mole Scanner, Biopsies, Skin Cancer Excisions including minor and major skin Grafts and Skin flaps.
With additional specialised experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine Dr Norval also continues in his 12th year to be an accredited Supervisor for GP Registrars in training and has since 2018 been approved by AHPRA to be a Primary Supervisor to provide level 1 – 4 supervisions for International Medical Graduates. DR SARITA GURUNG

Meet Dr Sarita Gurung, who has been a valued part of our team since early 2019. Originally from Nepal, Dr Sarita is a dedicated General Practice Fellow who is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to her patients. She has completed her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and holds an MBBS, a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Nepal, as well as a Master’s in Public Health (MPH).
Dr Sarita has a strong interest in women’s health, preventive healthcare, and skin cancer medicine. She is actively involved in our Skin Cancer Clinic, where she performs comprehensive skin checks, skin excisions, and minor surgical procedures. Dr Sarita holds a Certificate of Dermoscopy (SCCA), which supports her expertise in the early detection and assessment of skin cancers and other skin lesions. She consults in theatre on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays for skin checks and surgical procedures, providing high-quality, patient-centred care with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
Known for her thoughtful and patient-centred approach, Dr Sarita takes pride in delivering evidence-based care tailored to each individual patient’s needs. She is committed to supporting patients through every stage of their healthcare journey while creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

Dr Daniel Gonzalez

Dr Daniel Gonzalez relocated to Hervey Bay from Melbourne to start contracting with the Family First for a long-term placement in 2020. Dr Daniel has completed his MBBS and completed his fellowship with RACGP (Royal Australian College of General practitioner).
Originally from Mexico, Dr Gonzalez is an experienced GP who started his medical career in the Emergency Department at one of Mexico’s largest public hospitals and has since worked extensively in General Medicine. Daniel Gonzalez is passionate about all areas of General Practice with special interests in chronic disease management, preventative medicine, pediatrics, and mental health.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys traveling, listening to live music, and spending time outdoors.

Dr Bhavin Karkar

Meet Dr Bhavin Karkar, who has been a valued member of the Family First team since late 2022 and proudly offers completely bulk billed consultations. Dr Karkar has completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and holds his MD, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice. With over 10 years of experience as a General Practitioner and Consulting Physician, along with 12 months of Accident and Emergency Medicine experience, he is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to the Fraser Coast community.
Dr Karkar has special interests in the management of chronic conditions, cardiology, lung diseases, and endocrine disorders. Dr Kyaw (Ken) Ko Ko

Meet Dr Ken Ko Ko, who joined the Family First Medical Centre team at the beginning of 2023 and proudly offers completely bulk billed consultations. Dr Ken is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and is known for his compassionate, patient-centred approach to healthcare.
Dr Ken has special interests in mental health, chronic disease management, and skin cancer medicine. He also has a strong interest in dermatological procedures, including skin excisions, biopsies, and minor surgical procedures. Dr Ken currently provides dedicated Skin Cancer Consultations on Wednesdays, continuing to expand his expertise in this field to provide the highest quality care to his patients.
Before joining Family First, Dr Ken completed his GP registrar training at Childers Family Medicine and Monsour Clinic in Maryborough, where he further developed his knowledge and practical experience in general practice. Originally from Burma, Dr Ken also brings valuable international experience, having previously worked in Jamaica before relocating to Australia. Since then, he has gained extensive hospital experience across Mt Isa, Maryborough, and Hervey Bay Hospitals, strengthening his broad clinical skills and expertise.

Originally from Bangladesh, Dr Arif is a highly experienced medical practitioner with over 12 years of experience across a variety of medical settings.
Dr Arif has extensive experience managing cancer and emergency patients, including serving as a Major in the Bangladesh Army Medical Corps, where he developed strong clinical expertise and leadership skills. Since January 2022, he has worked across Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals, gaining valuable experience and an in-depth understanding of the Australian healthcare system.

Dr A K M Bashad

Dr Bashad is an experienced General Practitioner with over 14 years of clinical experience across Bangladesh, the Middle East, and Australia. After completing his Basic Surgical Training, he has developed strong skills in skin cancer management, minor surgical procedures, wound care, and chronic disease management.
He holds advanced qualifications in skin cancer medicine, including the Professional Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery from Bond University, as well as a Certificate of Dermoscopy from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Dr Laura Rogalski

Meet Dr Laura Rogalski, who has been a valued member of the Family First Medical Centre team since 2024. Dr Laura’s general GP books are currently closed; however, she is accepting new patients for Women’s Health consultations.
Dr Laura has a strong passion for women’s health and offers a wide range of services including Mirena (IUD/IUS) insertions, contraceptive implant insertion and removal, contraception advice, perimenopause and menopause consultations, and antenatal care. She also has interests in minor surgical procedures, paediatrics, and children’s health, providing compassionate and personalised care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Dr Laura graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine in 2016 before completing her foundation training in London. She later pursued Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working as a registrar in Bundaberg for two years. During this time, she completed her RANZCOG Certificate in Women’s Health as well as her RCOG Diploma, further strengthening her expertise in women’s healthcare.

Dr Alex Kubitskiy

Dr Alex Kubitskiy is a fully qualified, Australian-trained doctor and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (ACCSM).
After graduating from Kazan State Medical University in Russia, Dr Kubitskiy has built an extensive medical career spanning Russia, Italy, and Australia. He has gained broad experience in plastic surgery, microsurgery, and hand surgery, having worked as a Plastic Surgery Career Medical Officer in major tertiary hospitals across Sydney.
Dr Kubitskiy later completed additional specialist training through the ACCSM, enabling him to offer a comprehensive range of cosmetic services, including both surgical and non-surgical treatments. This allows him to provide patients with tailored, end-to-end care and a full spectrum of treatment options.
He offers advanced surgical expertise in the management of skin cancer, including non-surgical and surgical treatments, with proficiency in complex local skin flaps and grafts.

Dr Chiquet Manzano

Meet Dr Chiquet Manzano, who joined the Family First Medical Centre team in January 2026. Dr Chiquet graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute in the Philippines in 2019 and is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centred care to the Fraser Coast community.
Following graduation, Dr Chiquet worked as a General Practitioner in the Philippines, where she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive primary care and the management of a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions.
In 2022, she relocated to Australia and has since gained extensive clinical experience as a Resident Medical Officer at Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals. Throughout her hospital training, she has worked across a broad range of specialties including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Cancer Care, and Hospital in the Home. After relocating to Australia, Dr Chiranthi gained extensive experience working across Emergency Medicine, as well as a variety of medical and surgical specialties, serving the local community through her roles at Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals. This included two years in the Hervey Bay Emergency Department, where she developed a strong foundation in acute and hospital-based care.

Dr Priya is a highly skilled medical practitioner from India who holds an MBBS, a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a renowned university in India, and has also completed fellowship training in Minimal Access Surgery.
With over 14 years of clinical experience, Dr Priya has practised extensively across India and Australia, including Melbourne, Hervey Bay, and Maryborough. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings across Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Paediatrics, providing her with broad expertise in managing a wide range of medical conditions across all stages of life.
